LEGACY CABLING ABATEMENT & CEILING REMEDIATION //
-
Over 700 abandoned legacy runs (unshielded Cat3 voice lines, degraded Cat5e, and unmanaged jumpers) were resting directly across the drop ceiling grid and ceiling tiles, creating critical weight violations, code compliance risks, and blocking air returns.
-
Systematically audited and tone-tested active connections to guarantee zero interruption to live business circuits.
-
Extracted and removed approximately 700+ dead drops from the drop ceiling space end-to-end (from field drops back to the telecommunications room).
-
Staged and cleared all abandoned copper cabling for metals recycling, restoring ceiling access to standard compliance.
PATHWAY & BACKBONE ARCHITETURE //
-
Rather than scattering new cabling randomly over the grid, we engineered a dedicated suspended pathway system.
-
Anchored a heavy-duty Main Distribution Rail running the entire spine of the facility.
-
Installed 4 dedicated lateral feeder pathways branching off the main backbone to distribute cable density evenly across all office zones.
-
Maintained required physical clearance from high-voltage electrical conduits, fluorescent light ballasts, and HVAC equipment to prevent EMI/cross-talk.
CUBICLE/OFFICE CABLE FEEDS, TERMINATIONS & FLUKE CERTIFICATION //
-
Pulled 425 new plenum-rated Cat6 cables from the overhead branches, down through utility poles, conduits, and furniture raceways, directly into modular cubicle raceways.
-
Routed cabling through cubicle channel tracks and terminated into furniture-specific modular faceplates.
-
Combed and terminated all 425 runs at the MDF onto modular patch panels.
-
Tested each individual link for Wiremap, Length, Propagation Delay, and NEXT, delivering a certified PDF compliance report along with cable matrix and marked up floor plan for final sign-off.
